John Reynolds
John Reynolds is a New York-based artist with an MFA in Painting from Brooklyn College, CUNY. He has also taught 2-D design at the college. His work explores themes of transience, liminal spaces, climate change, and queerness. Through abstract landscapes, Reynolds incorporates imagery such as trees, castles, and passageways, offering unexpected interpretations of familiar themes that draw viewers in.
Reynolds has been awarded artist residencies at Pioneer Works and Wave Hill Winter Workshop.
Before earning his MFA in 2023, Reynolds worked in various creative fields in New York, including advertising and branding, before deciding to fully dedicate himself to painting.
